The North Texas Poison Center (NTPC), established in 1984, is not only a critical emergency resource for Texans, but an excellent source of information and prevention measures.  The NTPC  is one of six poison centers within Texas and part of the Texas Poison Center Network (TPCN). NTPC provides emergency patient care and treatment information for toxic exposures or poisonings.  Certified specialist are able to give toxicology information on poisoning, drug overdose, drug identification, chemical exposure, insect bites or stings 24 hours a day, seven days a week by calling the Poison Help Hotline: 1-800-222-1222.  The NTPC is an essential go-to source during disaster situations as well.  The NTPC contracted with SwebApps to develop an app for smart phones that will allow users to have up to date poison information at their finger tips.  This free app is available for both Android and iPhone users.
